I was gripped at times by this WWII, Prague-set thriller about the assassination of high-ranking Nazi official Reinhard Heyrich (a man whose nicknames alone give you plenty of indication as to what kind of a fucking cunt he was); it is undeniably tense. However, while I appreciate it isn’t a problem for many people, this is one of those films in which heavily-accented ‘Vat-vill-ve-do-viv-you?’ English is used instead of – as should be the case – German or Czech, and sadly I just couldn’t get used to it or get past it. Oh well… Cillian Murphy and Toby Jones are nevertheless good as courageous resistance fighters, and the second half of the film is exciting. (***)
