+ high-res version

Watched: 21 November

A pleasant, jauntily-scored ramble through the streets of Istanbul that focuses on the city’s cat population, though the film becomes just as much about the ordinary people that are interviewed, who look out for the cats and care for them. Hundreds of thousands of cats prowl a variety of different communities, and are very much welcome and loved within these disparate areas; the documentary is occasionally insightful, very restful and a handy lesson on how a city can be tolerant of and kind towards stray animals, as opposed to just seeing them as problems.
